Noninfectious Inflammatory Central Nervous System Diseases in Dogs
If left untreated, inflammation of the brain and spinal cord in dogs is usually fatal. Until now, our ability to differentiate among NME, NLE, and GME has been extremely limited in living patients. Learn which breeds are susceptible and how to best distinguish infectious from noninfectious CNS disease. Immunosuppressive doses of glucocorticosteroids are still the mainstay of treatment; however, new and more effective therapies have recently been proposed.
